Aloha, Maui families!
I’m Kris Statler, co-founder and board member of Pacific Birth Collective. With 25 years of experience as a doula, monitrice, and home birth assistant, I’ve had the privilege of supporting many families through the incredible journey of childbirth. From catching a few babies myself to gaining in-depth knowledge of both physiologic birth and the ins and outs of birthing at Maui Memorial Medical Center and in out-of-hospital settings, it has been an honor to be part of such transformative moments. I’m excited to invite you to a special Q&A discussion at our Healing Center, where we’ll provide guidance on navigating your birth on Maui. Alongside my colleagues, we’ll reference my two booklets and call on various practitioners to answer your questions live on Facebook. Whether you join us in person at our center or tune in online, we’re here to support you. My goal is to provide succinct and open-minded information; answering your questions without any attempt to steer your family’s decisions. My booklets are truly the nuts and bolts of navigating your birth, and both can be read in just a half an hour or so. I will have hard copies on hand to give away, and they are also available as a PDF download on my website. I would love you all to read them and then let me know your questions. E-books: How to Navigate ... Birth on Maui What to Expect: Live Q&A Session: Get your questions answered by experienced practitioners. We’ll discuss everything from hospital births to home births as well as informed consent, due diligence, what to expect at your clinic and how your choices in pregnancy affect your choices in birth.
